Many of the yarns used were dyed with Carlisle plants, especially the golds, creams and browns. I used goldenrod, coreopsis, black oak bark and other local plants for dyeing. This rug was woven on a loom we converted from an industrial school loom we found in 1960. Over the years my friends have come and woven their creations on this loom, most recently Betsy, Brin, Laura and Molly.
